Bible Story

THIS MONTH’S BIBLICAL THEME IS: God is with us.

Our stories this month reveal that God is always with His people. Even in times of human failure,God’s presence remained steadfast, showing that He is not confined to a place or dependent on human actions. No matter what our circumstances are, God is with us.

No matter what exciting things might be going on around us, God is the “Main Attraction”! Each Bible story ultimately points back to God’s presence and purpose. We can learn more about Him and who He is.

The Kingdom Divides (1 Kings 11-12)

King Solomon married many foreign wives who led him to worship other gods, despite God’s warnings. God told Solomon He would divide the kingdom, leaving only a portion for his family because of the promise He made to David. Solomon’s son, Rehoboam, ignored wise counsel and made the people's burdens heavier, leading to rebellion and the division of Israel. God promised a future King who would unite His people. Even the wisest man in the world messed up. In Mark 10:18, Jesus said: “No one is good except God alone.” All people sin. We think, say or do things that disobey God. That is why Jesus came. Our sin separates us from God because He is holy and perfect. But He loves us so much that He sent Jesus to us. Jesus died and rose again, making a way for us to be forgiven and to have a relationship with God forever.
