THIS MONTH’S BIBLICAL THEME IS: The Holy Spirit Is Our Helper
No matter our circumstances, we are not alone. The Holy Spirit is our Helper. He empowers us to do God’s work, share about His goodness and lead us to Him. The Holy Spirit empowered the disciples to perform miracles and preach about the good news of Christ. Just as the Holy Spirit helped the disciples, He is still our Helper today!
This month, we are getting our wheels spinning and hitting the race track! Similar to how an engine makes a car run, the Holy Spirit fuels and guides us.
Great Commission (Acts 1:6–11, Matthew 28)
After Jesus died on the cross, He appeared to the disciples to show them He was alive again! He stayed with them for forty days and told them about the Kingdom of God. Jesus gave them a mission to tell everyone about Him and make disciples and told them they would receive the Holy Spirit. After Jesus said these things, He was taken up to heaven on a cloud.
God had a plan to save us from the sin that separates us from Him. God sent His Son, Jesus, to live a perfect life and then to rescue us from our sins by dying on the cross. Because of Jesus’ sacrifice, we can have a close relationship with God. Three days after Jesus died, He rose from the dead. By doing so, He conquered death! Jesus left His followers with a very important mission—to tell everyone about His love and forgiveness.
